First bike ride

So before heading back home Granny and I took the kids outside at the farm to burn some energy.  Lachlan had a chance to hop on this bike and thought it was really neat.  Although he couldn't go forwards or use the pedals he loved to push it backwards until he'd get stuck in the grass or a bush.

Playtime

So while in Virden this weekend we went over to the Elks Playground.  It's great to see that some things don't change.  Most of the play equipment that is there was the stuff I used to play with when I was little.  Of course there have been newer additions as the years have passed, but to see my favorites still there is such a treat.  Preston thought the train was a cool toy and loved to ring the bell.

Lachlan loved crawling around on the merry-go-round.

And climbing on the monkey bars : )

Our last full day of camping

Back at the beach again to cool off.  Seems like there was no breeze today to keep cool in that sun and heat, but the water was cold so it was great.

Poor Preston was attacked all weekend by mosquitos.  The only relief he got was when we were at the beach.  It seems like the bug spray never lasted more than 5 minutes with him and he just couldn't stop scratching.

Hmmm....where do I want to go today?

I had a midwife appt on Friday so Marc and I headed into Brandon and found this guy and thought Preston would love to play with it and he did.

Plenty of firsts on this camping trip...

The kids in the other campsite brought hulla hoops and Preston wanted to try it out.  Somehow, he figured out how to work it as long as someone would start it off on his hips.  Marc was totally stumped on how he knew how to hulla, but this kid always seems to have a trick up his sleeve so it was neat to see him hulla.

And this heat has not helped me one bit.  My poor ankles were swollen all weekend long.  It got so bad that I had to start wearing my running shoes as my sandals were too tight!

Preston's first s'more.  For a picky eater he ate everthing we cooked all weekend long.  I can't wait to start scrapbooking some of these awesome photos!

And the boys chillin' in their chairs before bedtime.  Lachlan loved sitting in his chair and any other chair he could climb into.

Happy Canada Day!

What a busy day we had!  From enjoying the rain, heat, sun, mosquitos... not so much, to swimming, and all the playing the boys did.  It was a busy day.  Preston's 1st time in the water at the beach this year and the first thing out of his mouth was "Daddy, I LOVE this!".  I missed it as I was getting Lachlan all slathered up with sunscreen, but he did repeat it so I could hear it.  For the kid who was very nervous in water this has been a dramatic change.  He doesn't trek too far out but loved playing in the water.

And then there's this fearless little guy.  He took off and crawled right into the water and loved it.  He splashed, walked and crawled.  It was the most fun he had all day.  What a difference in these two I see as they grow up.
